Palliative Care Reflexology

This treatment is to improve well-being with gentle CALM techniques to calm the body and mind for clients with serious illnesses. Reflexology is a physical treatment but for many it acts also on an emotional level. Reflexology often helps in reducing side effects from medication, relieve stress, anxiety and depression. Reflexology can boost energy levels and helps to balance the body.  It’s a non-invasive and relaxing therapy.

Fertility Reflexology

Reflexology is a particularly successful fertility boosting therapy when used in conjunction with a healthy diet and lifestyle. Apart from relaxation, it can also boost blood circulation, help balance hormone levels and regulate the menstrual cycle. By stimulating the reproductive organs, it synchronises ovulation and improves sperm production. It is particularly useful when be performed on both partners to promote optimum fertility. Reflexology can also help clients undergoing fertility treatment (IVF, IUI, etc).

As every person is treated as an individual the treatments are bespoke to each person’s requirements and to work with whatever stage of the fertility plan you are at.

When you come for your appointment a detailed and full consultation is taken with you. After this an individual conception treatment program will be designed according to your requirements, including which treatments would be best for you and how often you would need to have a treatment. You will also be offered some additional advice to ensure that you increase your chances of getting pregnant and staying pregnant.

Clinical Reflexology

Reflexology is a very easy treatment to receive – you will only be asked to remove your shoes and socks. Reflexology is deeply relaxing and can help ease tension and calm the mind. The release of endorphins during reflexology can enhance mood and promote feelings of well-being. It can promote a sense of overall balance and harmony, leaving you feeling centred and renewed.

As a qualified Level 5 Clinical Duopody Practitioner the first treatment involves discussing your medical history, completing a brief lifestyle questionnaire, and talking through your expectations and health goals. This allows me to create a bespoke treatment plan which will be regularly updated and reviewed. A full reflexology treatment will then be carried out and aftercare advice will be given before you leave.

Subsequent treatments will be planned with you.

Maternity Reflexology

Reflexology in pregnancy aims to optimise the physical and emotional health of the pregnant woman. As a therapist I will provide general lifestyle advice and offer support. One benefit of receiving reflexology during pregnancy is that it allows time away from often busy lives and provides a time and space where you can focus purely on yourself and your growing baby.

Reflexology can benefit a woman at every stage of her pregnancy, from conception through all three trimesters, during labour and even post-partum.  Pregnancy can be a stressful time for a woman and reflexology can help ease any anxiety and fear she may be experiencing throughout the pregnancy.  It is common for mothers-to-be to worry about many things during their pregnancy, from whether or not they are eating the right foods, to exercising enough or too little and to how they will cope when the baby is born. These worries may develop into anxiety and stress. If stress continues to manifest over long-periods of time, this could in turn result in poor pregnancy health where some of the more common conditions associated with pregnancy such as tiredness, nausea/morning sickness, pelvic and lower back pain, sciatica, heartburn, constipation, insomnia, swollen limbs etc are exacerbated. Regular reflexology treatments throughout pregnancy will support mothers-to-be by helping them to relax, relieve tension and stress.

Menopause Reflexology

The Menopause is a natural phase in a woman’s life that can span several years as the body adjusts to this change and is part of the normal ageing process.

The average age in the UK for menopause is 51, with most people likely to experience the menopause between the ages of 45 and 55. A good, clean, balanced diet is especially important for those going through the menopause. Avoiding heavily processed foods that are high in sugar, salt and additives is important. Consuming foods rich in vitamins and minerals will ensure an abundance of vital nutrients are received by the body to support bones and the heart.

Menopause reflexology works by regulating the hormones and glandular functions of the body. It can help to ease and balance both the physical and emotional systems. By working on the endocrine system, specifically the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, it can help to restore balance to the hormonal system

Baby Reflexology

The aim of reflexology is to promote wellness in the body, by massaging key reflex points in the toes and feet. Helping babies through their formative development and life affirming journey is a wonderful thing. These gentle techniques can help relieve constipation, teething discomfort, sleep, strengthen your bond and is an extremely rewarding time for you and your baby.

Stress & Anxiety - (NEPIP)

NEPIP is an abbreviation for NeuroEndoPsychoImmunoPody. NEPIP is an advanced reflexology treatment effective in helping people suffering from stress and anxiety. It is exclusively performed by Level 5 Practitioners.

NeuroEndoPsychoImmunoPody is the scientific study of the relationship between our brain, our nervous system (Neurology) and their direct relationship with the endocrine system (Endocrinology) via the hypothalamus, and how it affects our mind and emotions (Psychology) via the immune system (Immunology), reflected in the feet (Pody).

I concentrate on both the mind and body in harmony, creating a targeted healing session for each client. NEPIP uses advanced protocols which work on the principle of increasing the flow of communication between the mind, immune, endocrine and nervous systems, all of which are involved with and can be adversely affected by stress.
